Ethereum's Layer 2 #Scroll has quietly launched its zkEVM on the mainnet, and it's already making waves. While there hasn't been an official announcement from the Scroll team yet, on-chain data reveals significant progress.

Bridging Success 🌉

As of now, over 330 #ETH (that's more than $500,000!) has been successfully bridged. This achievement comprises over 850 transactions involving nearly 500 unique users. The bridge deployment started on October 8, as confirmed by Etherscan.

The best part? You can already add the Scroll mainnet to your web3 wallets like #MetaMask. Transferring funds from other #Ethereum -based networks to the zkEVM is easy via third-party bridges like Owlto Finance, with a minimum bridge amount of just 0.0035 ETH (approximately $5).

Dapps are quickly integrating with the Scroll mainnet. ScrollSwap, the first decentralized exchange on Scroll, is already operational. Plus, Merkly, an omnichain solution, enables users to explore this exciting network further.

DefiLlama is already keeping tabs on ScrollSwap and three other DEXs on the Scroll zkEVM. The total value locked in Scroll applications has already exceeded $150,000, and the numbers are rising.

What's Next? ❓

While the Scroll team hasn't confirmed a token launch yet, the zkEVM mainnet's release follows rigorous testing phases, including its presence on the Ethereum Goerli and Sepolia testnet.

Scroll's development journey spans two years, involving a dedicated team of 60 members and numerous external contributors.

zkEVMs are Ethereum Layer 2 networks using zero-knowledge proofs for enhanced scalability. They're Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible, making them a game-changer for Ethereum applications, all while operating efficiently at scale.

Stay tuned for more updates.
