Bitcoin (BTC) prices retreated to the $56,000 level after recently resuming its upward momentum. Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and XRP followed the broader market trend and weakened. However, Helium (HNT) and DOGS bucked the trend and became some of the biggest gainers of the day.

It is worth noting that the global cryptocurrency market cap today is $1.99 trillion, down 0.44% from the day before. In addition, the total market volume fell 3.75% to $62.45 billion. Below is a brief report on the top cryptocurrencies by market cap and their price movements today (September 6).
Bitcoin price today
BTC price has fallen by 0.6% in the past 24 hours and is currently at $56,737. In the past 24 hours, the coin fell to a low of $55,712.45, sparking concerns. While $57,284.30 remains the highest point in 24 hours.
Additionally, according to data from Soso Value, Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows of up to $211.15 million as of September 5, in line with today’s drop in BTC prices. Nevertheless, data from Spotobchain shows that whales recently accumulated a large amount of 1,145 BTC, sparking speculation about future price movements.
Bitcoin’s dominance remains at 56.21% today, having fallen nearly 0.16% in the past 24 hours. The flagship cryptocurrency’s market cap has slipped to $1.12 trillion.
Ethereum price today
ETH price has fallen by 0.5% in the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $2,393. The coin’s intraday low and high were $2,348.86 and $2,418.02 respectively.
Notably, the slight drop in price coincided with $152,720 in outflows from the spot Ethereum ETF. Meanwhile, Monochrome’s recent plans to launch an ETH ETF have drawn more attention to the token in Australia. Moreover, ETH’s market cap remains at $287.9 billion.
