I decided to write my vision of everything that is happening around the Telegram founder and the ecosystem itself.
Of course, first of all, it is lawlessness - issuing a description for Pavel's arrest a couple of hours before landing, of course, sooner or later something like this had to happen, but so brazenly and under someone else's tune, we all guess who is whispering commands in the Frogs' ear. He has long been walking on the edge of a knife that lies on thin ice. In our time, having such power in one hand is unacceptable for the authorities, although it has always been like this, but more veiled. A messenger with a base of almost 1 billion users, 1/8 of the world's population, of which 450 million go to the social network daily, is in the hands of 30 people, you must agree, it sounds scary.
Durov most likely has a backup plan for such circumstances. After all, he already gained experience with his previous legendary project VKontakte and guessed that history would repeat itself, but on a larger scale. I think the lawyers are already sweating hard, implementing the conceived plan to free the ventriloquist, but the strong grip of the authorities will not let go of their prey so easily.
It is quite possible that we will see a similar situation that happened to the former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao. Let me remind you that not long ago he was under the threat of a real prison term, but got off relatively lightly, thanks to one of the largest payments in history. The cryptocurrency exchange Binance agreed to pay a fine of $4.3 billion in the United States and make a deal with the investigation to provide its user base at the request of the special services. All this was also planned and calculated long ago. As a result, one can fantasize that Pavel will make a deal with the authorities and leave his post as head of Telegram - this is plan B, other options are hard to imagine.
Many will say that the creator is not responsible for the use of his technologies! Believe me, history has shown that he is the one who is responsible for his brainchild. Today, every head of a large company is under fire, especially if there is interaction with crypto. It's time to think about the complete REAL decentralization of projects, and not talk about it for the sake of cutting investors, or squat on a bottle next. Perhaps Telegram will become the first DeSocial platform with more than 1 billion users? - Plan C.
Telegram will continue to exist as before. Will it change? Most likely, yes. There will be some changes, but they will be barely noticeable to us, except that there will be a feeling of the presence of "big brother" in correspondence with colleagues in the shop. However, this will be quickly forgotten, this always happens.
The TON ecosystem will probably experience the most trouble. The screws are tightening from all sides, the toothless grip of capitalists holds the cryptocurrency market tightly. Perhaps TON will go the way of regulation and ETF adoption, because if you can’t ban it, then you need to take control. I am a maximalist and my portfolio has only three assets, only fundamentals from ETH and BTC and next to them $TON.
Telegram is the product that we use for its intended purpose, as a project that simplifies life and eliminates routine. It has already outgrown a regular messenger and has become an entire planetary-scale system with enormous potential.
We keep our fingers crossed for Pavel. We hope that the parties will come to a mutual consensus and everything will end peacefully.
