Yesterday, UneMeta founder, @Ann_tyrion, shared a tweet on X, sharing her mental journey in exploring the integration of Web3 and the IP industry. Unlike many project parties, she did not blindly tell a grand narrative, but revealed her exploration of this industry and her continuous enrichment of her beliefs between the lines. She sincerely talked about her persistence and thinking in the face of doubts and challenges. This sincere attitude is particularly moving.

Regarding the relatively "niche" track of cultural IP, she said in the article that "IP is not just a number measured by economics, but also a memory, bond, and understanding in growth." Through actual cases, such as cooperation with heavyweight directors and top animation companies, she demonstrated how Web3 can bring a new promotion model and fan interaction method to the IP industry, so that fans are no longer just silent supporters, but become co-creators and beneficiaries on the road of IP growth.

For example, integrating the Web3 reward mechanism into movie tickets and peripheral merchandise, and establishing a commercial model in which IP and fans make joint decisions, this innovation not only enhances fans' sense of belonging and participation, but also opens up a new path for the sustainable development of the IP industry.

Although the road ahead is long and full of uncertainty, she not only shows a spirit of exploration of the unknown, but also a deep expectation of achieving the goal. This persistence and belief, as he mentioned, "It definitely takes a lot of craziness to believe this would work. But we gotta believe in something.", makes people feel a kind of power to move forward without fear of difficulties.

Her confession is an encouragement to all those who are exploring the road of innovation, reminding us that true value is often born from the courage to cross the traditional boundaries. She and her team have always adhered to their pure love for anime IP, not being swayed by the wind and waves, and not following the trend. They believe that this persistence and innovation will eventually bear fruit.

The following is Ann's original text:

Originally, I would start with, "I've talked to a lot of investors recently, and they all want us to use one or two sentences to describe what we are doing, but ours is indeed something completely new and unique."

Now, the leader Story has raised a huge amount of funds. Although I don’t quite understand what real problems in IP they are solving, I appreciate the sudden attention to IP. I would also like to talk about the value of IP and Web3 from my perspective.

We don’t talk about mass adoption because that is too large and too long a narrative for web3.

We are just here to talk about why we chose the IP industry and what Web3 can really do for this industry.

In the process of growing up, everyone has several stories and memories that are deeply engraved in their hearts, and they will always hit themselves again and again in the process of growing up. For me, it was the moment when Mitsui Shou cried and said to Coach Anzai, "I want to play basketball". It made people feel what repentance is, what love is, what stupid self-esteem is, what is not afraid of making mistakes, and what is persistence.

What IP brings to this industry is not just economically measurable numbers, but also memories, bonds, and insights gained from growth.

During the process of establishing UneMeta, we have been discussing with senior people in the IP industry what Web3 means to IP. Each role in this industry has different demands.

We understand that most of the so-called "pain points" are actually false propositions. Not only does it take a lot of time to break the existing rules, but they do not require Web3 technology to solve them, such as the on-chain IP management rights. There are also some effects brought by Web3 that are not actually needed by traditional IP fans, such as the so-called wealth-creating effect, which cannot bring emotional value.

It has to be said that it is not easy to find precise pain points, but most of the people we come into contact with in this industry have great curiosity and imagination about what will happen in Web3, which may be brought about by the unique creativity of the IP industry.

Therefore, we started to cooperate with IP from simple products, such as NFT, which everyone thought was a cliché that had been played out. Many Web3 "insiders" questioned and laughed at it, but it also brought in new blood who got to know us from scratch because they liked the IP, not only community members, but also team members. Most importantly, these creators and IP managers began to trust us and Web3. We also went from simple cooperation to frequent discussions every week, and from calculating profits to designing products together.

In the process of searching for answers with peers in the IP industry, there are many voices in the Web3 industry, and to be honest, most of them are not friendly.

They think that Web3 is changing rapidly and is all about attention economy. There is no such thing as persistence, let alone building a business model. They think that connecting Web2 and Web3 is a false proposition, and most people have failed, so there is no point in persisting.

However, we just don’t believe it. We don’t believe that even the Japanese IP industry, which is the most difficult to open, has been opened by us. Can’t we have a place in the Web3 group?

In this process, we did find a point where Web3 can gain benefits, and also a new and credible Web3 business model. While helping IP parties to achieve more efficient and accurate promotion, it can also allow fans who contribute to the promotion to receive due rewards.

We reward these fans with tokens using the promotion budget that the IP party was going to release to the centralized investment platform.

More importantly, fans can record their contributions to their favorite IPs, and no longer remain anonymous as in the past. There is a deeper bond between IPs and fans. Fans can also participate in future IP commercialization decisions and continue to enjoy the benefits of commercialization.

This is also the most essential difference between this model and other models. There will be a huge resonance and cohesion among fans, and countless topics will be generated, which will greatly enhance their sense of belonging to the IP, thereby transforming the original one-time consumption behavior into long-term repeated consumption, truly realizing the common growth of fans and IP, and creating an ecosystem that can self-grow.

Based on this business model, we have collaborated with heavyweight directors such as Watanabe Shinichiro, Morita Shuhei, and Li Wei, and top animation companies such as Mappa, to produce Project Taisu, the first animation IP movie incubated by a Web3 company, which will hit the big screen overseas this year (it has already been released on Tencent Video in China).

This is a bold attempt on our part. We will print Web3 rewards on every movie ticket. Everyone who buys peripherals will receive token rewards. Taisu will also become the first IP to jointly decide on the commercialization model with fans in the form of Web3, and will also bind users' contributions to the IP with the commercial benefits of the IP. We are also very grateful to the predecessors in the IP industry for their recognition and support, and we believe that we can promote this model in the IP industry.

The road ahead is long and we are very anxious, but what far outweighs our anxiety is our huge anticipation for what is to be achieved.

It definitely takes a lot of craziness to believe this would work. But we gotta believe in something.

About UneMeta

UneMeta is a long-established Web3 digital asset platform that has attracted much attention from the crypto market and the animation IP market. It aims to build a bridge between real-life art IP and NFT art communities to promote the inclusiveness and diversity of the Web3 community. It also hopes to create an inclusive and intersecting metaverse community based on the ecosystem's first-class product experience and platform attributes.

As a pioneer in promoting the Web3ization of anime IP, one of UneMeta's ecological advantages is that it has established in-depth cooperation with a number of top anime IPs, and it is also the only Web3 platform with many successful cooperation cases with Japan's top animation IPs.

Representative ones include: Kumamon, which brought more than 3.3 billion yen in tourism revenue to Kagoshima Prefecture, had 500 million emoticon downloads, and sent more than 12 billion records; the new drama "TAISU PROJECT", which specially invited "Cowboy Bebop" director Shinichiro Watanabe and "Jiang Ziya" director Li Wei to participate in the production; voice actress goddess Hanazawa Kana and Japanese comics master Tezuka Osamu, etc.

Previously, the NFT issued by UneMeta under the authorization of the well-known Japanese IP Kumamon has been released to the market.
