[BBVA Switzerland fully enters the cryptocurrency industry through Metaco trading]
Swiss bank BBVA Switzerland recently announced a partnership with leading blockchain provider Metaco to expand its digital asset services to institutional clients. The partnership enables BBVA to enable fund managers and corporate clients to seamlessly trade on major crypto networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum and explore additional blockchain opportunities through Metaco’s Harmonize platform.
Metaco will provide a range of services to BBVA clients, including digital asset custody, token trading, and tokenizing real-world assets such as stocks and bonds. The partnership coincided with the news that the price of Ripple’s XRP token increased by 2.3% to $0.67, showing the confidence of traditional financial institutions in blockchain finance. XRP currently has a total market capitalization of $34.6 billion.
It is worth mentioning that Ripple acquired a controlling stake in Metaco earlier this year. In addition, HSBC also announced plans to launch a digital asset custody service powered by Metaco. As more banks invest in the cryptocurrency industry, its price and popularity are expected to grow further.
