Jersey City Retirement Fund will invest in Bitcoin ETFs
🖥 Mayor Steven Fulop of Jersey City, New Jersey announced on Thursday that the city's pension fund will allocate a portion of its investments to Bitcoin ETFs.
✅ Mayor Fulop revealed on social media platform X that the Jersey City pension fund is updating its documents with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He drew a comparison to the Wisconsin Retirement Fund, suggesting a similar approach. Fulop estimates that the process will be complete by the end of the summer.
🔸 Fulop said:
"The question of whether cryptocurrencies and bitcoin will last is almost settled, and cryptocurrencies and bitcoin have emerged victorious,"
🔹 also added:
"I am a long-term believer (in good times and bad) in cryptocurrencies, but more broadly, beyond cryptocurrencies, I believe that blockchain is one of the most important technological innovations since the advent of the internet life."
🗓 On July 24, spot Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $1.47 billion, with BlackRock's IBIT the majority at $865.31 million, according to data from The Block.
