Joana Cotar, a member of the German Parliament, believes that Bitcoin can fight inflation and promote economic independence.
In an interview on October 9, Cotar said inflation is “taking away people’s money” and sees Bitcoin as a means to achieve financial autonomy.
She stressed the importance of personal financial autonomy, especially during times of economic uncertainty, arguing that Bitcoin allows people to manage their assets without relying on traditional banks.
“Bitcoin will fix this. It's a basic human right,” she said.
Cotar also highlighted the benefits of Bitcoin for areas with limited financial participation, especially in developing countries, asserting that:
“Financial inclusion and economic autonomy from Bitcoin is important for the world.”
