European bitcoin mining company Northern Data is fighting back against a whistleblower lawsuit filed by two former executives. On Monday evening, Northern Data's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the federal case, calling it a "classic example of malicious litigation" and claiming that the two plaintiffs, Gulsen Kama and Joshua Porter, had "ineffective and short tenures" during their tenures at the company, with Kama fired for cause and Porter laid off for "lack of productivity." Northern Data has rejected Porter and Kama's extortionate demands for severance pay and believes the two employees are trying to profit from allegations they knew were false. In addition, Monday's filing noted that Kama's lawsuit against Northern Data is not her first time suing a former employer. (CoinDesk)
