🚨 THE STAKING PROTOCOL $WUKONG WAS ATTACKED "DOUBLE", LOSSES NEAR 56,000 USD ON BSC!
The TenArmor security monitoring system has issued an urgent notification about two consecutive attacks targeting a project on the Binance Smart Chain network.
📊 Details of the asset theft:
- Target: Staking contract of the project
#WUKONG on BSC.
- According to analysis from TenArmor, the project's Smart Contract has fallen victim to a Reentrancy bug. This is an extremely classic vulnerability in DeFi, allowing hackers to continuously withdraw funds before the system can update the actual balance.
- The hacker successfully executed two attack transactions. The first transaction siphoned off approximately 37,700 USD, and shortly after, a second hit took away 18,000 USD. The total estimated damage is around 55,700 USD.
💡 Perspective from the Tis channel: A bloody lesson about Audit!
- The Reentrancy bug has been a nightmare that has toppled many DeFi giants in the past. The fact that a Staking protocol at this point still falls victim to this basic vulnerability shows that the project's code Audit was conducted extremely loosely.
- This is a valuable reminder for everyone: When participating in Staking/Farming in new or Low-cap projects on BSC, extremely high interest rates mean nothing if you lose all your principal due to security flaws!
