At this point, it doesn’t matter if BTC hits $98k, $99k, or if it goes above $100k. A local top could happen at any time, and this move could be completely corrected. A few reasons why I’m still cautious:
-The sentiment here is very bullish. Retail is pouring in massively, jumping into memecoins. The memecoin rally feels overdone, and that’s not healthy. A strong correction is overdue, and it will likely affect the entire market.
-Trump is still not in power. The Democrats are still running the country, and even though they say the transfer of power will be “smooth and peaceful,” they are already trying to provoke a major war. In my opinion, this is a desperate attempt to impose martial law or/and leave Trump in a difficult position. By allowing and helping Ukraine send long-range missiles into Russian territory, the situation is escalating. I don’t want this to happen. Most people don’t want this to happen. But unfortunately, this is not something we can control, because there are real psychopaths in the elite circles of control. We can only pray and adapt.
-Also, the US government holds 208,109 BTC (currently $20.15B). They recently got approval to sell off Silk Road Bitcoin, likely through an auction or a phased sale. Honestly, it wouldn’t be surprising if they timed it to crash the price of BTC and make the next administration look bad—or just to make sure they don’t have any BTC to spend.
-The dollar is showing strength while BTC is rising, forming a divergence.
-Many altcoins are showing weakness and testing key levels for resistance. This is mostly BTC and memecoins, which is never a good sign. Not ruling out the last few altcoin pumps, but if my thesis is correct, they could drop 60-80% in the next few weeks.

You’ll see this a lot in bull runs where you see short, powerful liquidation events.
You know why?
When everything is going up, many people fail to see the value in holding spot.
Why settle for 3x when you can get 7x in the exact same month? We’re going up anyway. Just go long, right?
The problem? One small wick down (like 2 days ago) and you’re either liquidated (account at $0) or hit your stop loss.
A few days later? The position is fully recovered and higher than ever.
Leveraged traders are wiped out while spot is still comfortable.
It’s rare to see anyone actually succeed using leverage in this market. However, I do see many people successfully trading spot in this market. Not the first dm I received on my account with the question:
"Avutagamy, can you help me? I used leverage and went bankrupt"
Of course I learned from the experience, but it doesn't make it any less painful.
