New data from market intelligence platform Santiment reveals that two under-the-radar altcoins are primed to skyrocket.

According to the crypto analytics firm, domain-naming crypto Ethereum Name Service (ENS) and decentralized non-fungible token (NFT) ecosystem Treasure (MAGIC) have seen explosive network growth over the last 24 hours, highly increasing their chances of a breakout.

ENS and MAGIC are trading for $26.03 and $0.481 at time of writing, respectively.

Solana’s (SOL) Firedancer Set To Launch $1,000,000 Bug Bounty Program This Week

The Solana validator client’s new bug bounty will award up to $1 million worth of the stablecoin USDC to anyone who can unearth bugs on Firedancer v0.1. The program, which will be run with the bug bounty platform Immunefi, is scheduled to start on Wednesday and run until August 21st.

Santiment notes that Chainlink has shot up in rankings in terms of development activity over the last 30 days from fourth place in May to second place last month.

Meanwhile, decentralized app protocol Hedera (HBAR) continues to lead in the crypto space in terms of development activity.When compared to just other ERC-20 projects, Chainlink ranks at the top in terms of recent development activity, according to Santiment.

Bitcoin Mining Companies Switching to Other Coins Amid Rising Cost of Operations: CryptoQuant CEO

Ki Young Ju says that Bitcoin’s hashprice is now at an all-time low, potentially causing a slowdown in investments for mining companies and prompting them to look to other, cheaper proof-of-work (PoW) coins to mine for the time being.

VanEck Files for Solana ETF, SOL Rises 8%

The filing is the first Solana ETF to be filed in the U.S. and follows six days after a similar product filing in Canada.
Asset manager VanEck filed to sell shares in a Solana (SOL) exchange-traded fund (ETF), the first such registration in the U.S., just six days after 3iQ filed for a similar product in Canada.
The S-1 registration form lodged with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), helped lift the SOL token's 24-hour gain to almost 8%.
VanEck has been known to be a first mover in this space. The asset manager was the first to file for a spot ether (ETH) ETF back in 2021, almost three years before the SEC began to engage with issuers that now include BlackRock, Fidelity, Ark Invest and others. An additional filing was lodged in September last year.

US National Debt Surges $69,417,431,854 in One Day, Reaching All-Time High of $34,750,498,829,987

The new milestone comes after the nation’s outstanding debt jumped $69.41 billion in a single day, according to new numbers from the U.S. Treasury’s Debt to the Penny database.

According to a new report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the country’s total outstanding public debt is projected to reach $50.7 trillion by the end of 2034.

The new projections are significantly higher than just four months ago, when the agency said it expected the debt to hit $48.3 trillion by 2034, equaling 116% of GDP.

The CBO predicts the rate of inflation will slow for the remainder of this year and next year.

Tether’s USDT on TRON Network Surpasses Visa’s $42,000,000,000 Daily Average Volume

In a new post on the social media platform X, market intelligence firm Lookonchain notes that earlier this week, the 24-hour trading volume of Tether’s dollar-pegged digital asset over Tron was $53 billion – a nearly 10% rise on the day – while Visa’s was sitting at $42 billion.

Lookonchain’s chart also shows that over the same 24-hour period, USDT saw over 2 million transfers, a 5.14% raise on the day.

Earlier this month, Tether announced the launch of a new gold-backed stablecoin with overcollateralized reserves. Known as aUSDT, the digital asset will be backed by Tether Gold (XAUT), meaning it will be backed by stores of physical gold in Switzerland.

Bank of America Customers’ Information Illegally Accessed and Sold As Renegade Staffer Sparks Fraudulent Withdrawals

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) alleges Manuel Alejandro Ramirez Perez engaged in unsafe or unsound practices and violated laws while working as a relationship banker and credit solutions advisor at BofA’s North Naples, Florida branch.

In a consent and prohibition order, the OCC says that between February 2020 and June 2021, Perez accessed customer accounts without proper authorization to steal and sell sensitive data to an unknown individual.

The regulator says Perez’s actions allowed the thief to drain customer accounts to the tune of $65,877.37.

Bank of America bore the losses as it had to step in and reimburse the customers involved. Meanwhile, Perez got paid about $6,900 for selling customer data.

Perez did not admit or deny the OCC’s findings.
