Vitalik Buterin is accused of the largest ETH fraud
Lawyer and former Ethereum advisor, Steven Nerayoff, has the crypto community excited with his latest statement, published in a post by X (previously on Twitter) on Thursday.
In his statement, Nerayoff accused Ethereum founders Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin of possible fraudulent activities on the ETH blockchain, which he believes far exceed the case of former FTX CEO and founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF). ).
The FTX case has attracted public attention for about a year and has become one of the largest fraud cases in the cryptocurrency world, resulting in losses for many investors. Nearly $8 billion of client property was illegally transferred to FTX accounts, and millions of dollars were funneled to Bankman-Fried's Alameda Research subsidiary.
On Thursday, the FTX founder was found guilty on all seven counts of fraud and conspiracy and faces more than 100 years in prison, which is what the charges carry.
Nerayoff did not provide concrete evidence to support his accusations against the Ethereum founders, but this is not the first time an attorney has made similar allegations related to corruption in the world of cryptocurrencies.
