According to Odaily, Australian lawmaker Andrew Charlton expressed his views at the 2024 Australian Blockchain Week held in Sydney. He stated that the country's productivity growth rate in the 21st century has reached a 'fairly healthy' 2.1%, but it is now insufficient to maintain the basic growth of living standards. Charlton supports increasing the adoption of blockchain in the country, believing it can reverse the slow growth of productivity that has been prevalent for the past thirty years.

Charlton said, 'In the right environment and under proper regulation, the digital asset industry can bring up to $60 billion in revenue to the Australian economy each year.' However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the Australian government in formulating digital asset regulations.
