According to Foresight News, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee delivered the 2024 Policy Address at the Legislative Council, emphasizing the government's commitment to strengthening the information systems of public institutions through the Digital Policy Office. The office will spearhead the adoption of locally developed generative AI document assistance applications, initially piloted in government departments before broader implementation.

This year, approximately 20 digital government and smart city initiatives are set to be launched. These include the issuance of electronic certificates for designated civil service exams and Fire Services Department licenses using blockchain technology, as well as the application of artificial intelligence to handle public inquiries. The initiatives aim to enhance efficiency and service delivery within the public sector.
