On September 4th, @Polygon will transition from its $MATIC token to the new $POL token.
This significant change is a crucial part of Polygon 2.0 roadmap, which is designed to enhance zero knowledge based layer 2 chains ecosystem.
If you are a $MATIC holder on Polygon PoS, the upgrade to $POL will be automatic.
However, those holding Matic on Ethereum, Polygon zkEVM, or centralized exchanges will need to manually upgrade.
This process may involve bridging, updating smart contracts, or using a migration contract, depending on the specific case.
