According to The New Straits Times, Anwar mentioned that he has discussed policy proposals with the Abu Dhabi government and Binance, stating that he "leans towards not only approval but also accelerating progress." Previously, Malaysia had conducted CBDC cross-border payment research in collaboration with institutions such as the Bank for International Settlements in 2023, and plans to build national-level blockchain infrastructure. The country had previously requested Binance and Huobi to cease operations locally in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
