CoinVoice has learned that on the afternoon of the 7th, the civil 42 department of the Seoul Central District Court conducted the first debate preparation for a damage compensation request lawsuit amounting to about 16.2 billion Korean won filed against WeMade by 27 former and current senior employees.

Among these employees, some are still working at WeMade and are members of Wemade Tree, a subsidiary of WeMade (the former blockchain department). The company developed WEMIX, which was first listed on cryptocurrency exchanges in 2020. WeMade subsequently merged with WeMade Tree in February 2022.

During the preparation for the debate on that day, the agent for the plaintiff claimed: "The plaintiff is an employee who developed WEMIX and signed a compensation agreement for WEMIX development with the investors. The condition is that the working period is more than 3 years." They further added: "The company has an email stating that it must clearly promise to provide token compensation to the plaintiff."

The tribunal commented: "The weakness of the plaintiff is the lack of a contract," and "(even so) it is strange that the defendant claims not to give the employee a penny just because there is no contract."

It was previously reported that former and current employees of Wemade Tree (now merged with Wemade), the development company of the WEMIX project, filed a damage compensation lawsuit against WeMade for an amount of 16.2 billion Korean won (approximately 11.85 million USD). [Original link]
