Local time on December 30, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled that President-elect Trump must be held responsible and pay $5 million in damages for defaming writer Carroll after sexually assaulting her.
Reports state that the jury did not find Trump guilty of rape, but they awarded writer Carroll $2.02 million for the sexual assault and $2.98 million for defamation. It is reported that in January this year, another federal jury ruled that Trump must pay Carroll $83.3 million in damages for publicly disparaging Carroll in 2019 and denying her allegations of sexual assault against Trump.
