According to BusinessInsider, the prison sentence of former FTX executive Ryan Salame has been reduced, with his latest release date moved up to March 2031, shortening his original 7.5-year sentence by about a year. Salame began serving his sentence in October this year after pleading guilty to involvement in SBF's billion-dollar fraud case and was sentenced. He had previously been sentenced for conspiracy to illegally donate campaign funds and for operating an unlicensed money transmission business. It is reported that Salame's sentence adjustment is related to the 2018 First Step Act, which allows compliant inmates to reduce their sentences by up to 54 days per year.
