The application for a spot #bitcoin ETF by BlackRock earlier this month might mark a "significant turning point in bitcoin's path to institutional acceptance," according to a letter sent by #Ark Invest on Monday.

"BlackRock's decision to file for a Bitcoin ETF signals that large institutional players are positive on the long-term outlook for the digital asset," stated Ark analyst Yassine Elmandjra.

Other asset managers planning to start their own spot bitcoin funds, such as #Invesco, #WisdomTree, and #Valkyrie, have followed BlackRock's June 15 application. On April 25, Ark submitted a similar fund application with 21 Shares.

Cathie Wood’s investment management firm, Ark Invest purchased more than 400,000 Coinbase shares worth $21 Million after US SEC sued the exchange.

However, it's important to note that the submission of paperwork to the SEC does not imply automatic approval for their Bitcoin ETF applications. Grayscale's Chief Legal Officer, Craig Salm, shared the news on social media, stating, "Just filling out some Forms," garnering significant attention and anticipation within the crypto community.

While there are indications of progress, the final approval of the spot Bitcoin ETFs is not confirmed. TechCrunch's Jacquelyn Melinek suggested insider information that the SEC is likely to approve multiple firms' applications for the Bitcoin spot ETF.

Anthony Scaramucci, a well-known financier, echoed confidence, stating, "It’s done," emphasizing the ongoing discussions and finalization between the SEC and issuers.
Eric Balchunas, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, provided insights, noting that the SEC is currently offering final comments, with issuers expected to submit final 19b-4s and S-1s shortly after. Despite the optimism, no official approval has been confirmed at this point.

In response to these developments, the price of Bitcoin experienced a surge, reaching around $44,000 before retracing to the $43,000 level. The crypto community is closely monitoring these developments, anticipating potential approval and the subsequent impact on the cryptocurrency market.

worth around $5.3 million — as the value of the crypto exchange’s stock reached the highest level in 18 months.

Ark also bought 143,063 shares of Robinhood ($1.2 million) for its Ark Fintech Innovation ETF.

Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest sold more Coinbase
shares on Monday, offloading 43,956 COIN ($5.3 million) as the value of the crypto exchange’s stock reached the highest level in 18 months.

Ark also bought 143,063 shares of Robinhood,
worth around $1.2 million, for its Ark Fintech Innovation ETF, according to the company’s latest trade filing. That is in addition to the 93,297 ($780,000) Robinhood shares Ark added to its ARK Next Generation Internet fund on Friday.

Coinbase stock currently trades at $120.69 in
pre-market trading, up more than 50% this month and 228% year-to-date, to reach the highest level since April 2022, according to TradingView. However, the stock is still down around 65% from an all-time high of $342.98 during the peak crypto bull market of November 2021.
