⛔️ Four Huobi Exchange Employees Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Users' Crypto Funds
In 2023, four employees of the Huobi exchange (now known as HTX) in China used internal resources to upload malware into Huobi Wallets, obtaining around 40,000 user keys and seed phrases.
‼️ The exact amount of damage is not disclosed, but it is known that they managed to access at least 19,000 wallets.
Following a police investigation, the exchange employees were arrested and sentenced to three years in prison and fines.
The incident occurred before the exchange was acquired by entrepreneur Justin Sun and subsequently renamed HTX.
