The trading volume of premarket futures Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) on the Bybit and OKX cryptocurrency exchanges exceeded 2 million USDT. The first launched trading in July, the second in August.
In a commentary to ForkLog, the OKX team noted the growing interest of users in the token - the daily trading volume of HMSTR reaches almost 115,400 USDT. For Bybit, this figure is 19,400 USDT.
The average price of HMSTR on the OKX premarket is 0.16 USDT, on Bybit - 0.111 USDT.

Michael Saylor calls on Germany not to sell bitcoins
MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor wrote a post in X in German, in which he asked not to sell the first cryptocurrency.
The publication comes after it was reported that the German Criminal Police Department and the General Prosecutor's Office sold all 49,860 BTC, worth about $2.9 billion, confiscated from the pirate portal Movie2k in January.
The assets seized by the Saxony Police Department were stored in the wallet of the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).
Regional legislation provides for the liquidation of seized funds within a certain period. With this, co-founder and CEO of Blockchain Research Lab Lennart Ante explained the sales of bitcoins by the authorities, which began with small amounts on June 19.

Binance's billionaire founder Changpeng Zhao was sentenced to four months in prison on Tuesday, after pleading guilty to charges of enabling money laundering at his crypto exchange.

"You had the wherewithal, the finance capabilities, and the people power to make sure that every single regulation had to be complied with, and so you failed at that opportunity," U.S. District Judge Richard Jones said to Zhao in a Seattle federal court, according to a Reuters report.

We have recently received feedback from several Italian users who have been scammed. We are sharing their experiences here in the hope of raising awareness about this scam to prevent further victims. Below is an account from one of the victims:
"The scammer impersonated Binance support. After receiving a message informing me that someone was attempting a transaction, I received a call from him saying the same. He informed me that someone was attempting a transaction and, as he had my Anti-phishing code, I believed he was Binance support. I thought he was genuine because I was receiving emails containing my Anti-phishing code. He then transferred all my funds away."
The scam typically begins with the perpetrator sending a text message containing a phishing link to the victim. Upon clicking the link, the victim is prompted to enter their account information (at this point, the attacker is stealing the victim's account information). As the victim enters the SMS/email verification code, the scammer is in the process of withdrawing funds. Thus, when the victim receives the withdrawal confirmation email, the scammer contacts them by phone, claiming to have detected a withdrawal from their account. We often assume that scammers wouldn't inform us if they were withdrawing funds from our accounts, and it is precisely this trust that the scammer exploits.
Don't trust unknown links! Verify it through https://www.binance.com/en/official-verification.
Binance must educate people on how to contact live support in cases of emergency to detect fraud on time and arrest scammers. Cryptocurrency usage isn't dangerous. What we need is a secure platform to educate us on the security needful to protect us from any scam. The first sign of a scam is the site with typos. I hope they didn't lose much and come back to crypto.

Solana developers are looking for solutions to combat network congestion, but it will take time. This was announced by Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko.

In February, a team of experts led by journalist Colin Wu concluded that the network's intermittent outages were due to its inability to cope with the growing volume of transactions. 🧑‍💻 Hackers took over the official MicroStrategy X account, posting a series of malicious links to a fake airdrop for a so-called Ethereum-based MSTR token.

Business intelligence firm MicroStrategy’s X account has been hacked, posting malicious links to a fake airdrop of a so-called “official” Ethereum-based MSTR token.

💸 A user clicking on the link is directed to a copycat MicroStrategy webpage that directs them to connect a wallet and claim the fake MSTR airdrop. Once users accept a series of permissions in their Web3 wallet, it is understood that the attackers can automatically drain the tokens out of the user’s wallet.

According to independent blockchain sleuth ZachXBT and anti-scam platform Scam Sniffer, losses incurred from the scam have already tallied over $440,000.

🏆 Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation are considering at least five ways to reduce Ethereum’s maximum block size in hopes of optimizing the blockchain for a “rollup-centric roadmap.”

📆 On Feb. 5, Buterin and Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter said that with the focus on rollups in the medium and long term, it is argued that the way block space is used is not yet optimized, noting that effective block size has essentially doubled over the past 12 months.

Binance froze $4.2 million worth of XRP tokens stolen from Ripple co-founder

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has frozen $4.2 million in XRP tokens associated with the hacking of the personal wallet of Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen.

On January 31, on-chain researcher ZachXBT drew attention to suspicious transactions and suggested that hackers stole ~213 million XRP worth $112.5 million from Ripple.

Larsen stated that we are talking about his personal funds. According to him, a day earlier, unknown persons gained unauthorized access to several personal accounts. He noted that it was possible to quickly identify the problem, notify trading platforms of the need to block assets and involve law enforcement officers in the investigation.

Binance CEO Richard Teng thanked ZachXBT and the Ripple team for coordinating efforts to track the stolen tokens. He assured that exchange specialists will continue to monitor the assets remaining in the criminals’ wallets.

📣 Nasdaq, Cboe apply to offer BTC ETF options trading, receive fast response 📣

Options are “the next logical step” for BTC ETF trading and could begin by the end of February, according to an analyst.

📆 On Jan. 19, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) acknowledged Nasdaq and the Cboe’s proposals to begin options trading on Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Nasdaq filed for a rule change to list and trade options on BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust. The Cboe applied to trade options on “ETPs [exchange-traded products] that Hold Bitcoin.” Cboe launched six of the 10 BTC ETFs recently approved by the SEC.

🚀 BTC ETFs began trading on the Nasdaq and Cboe on Jan. 11 after receiving approval from the SEC a day earlier. Cboe executive vice president Catherine Clay told CNBC on Jan. 18 that the exchange was seeing “good inflows” into the BTC ETFs, which continued to track the price of BTC “as expected.”
