Macro/TradFi

Hong Kong regulators have approved spot BTC and ETH ETFs. They are expected to start trading in the next two weeks, and it is not yet clear whether or not Mainland Chinese investors will be able to participate. 

Aptos has partnered with Microsoft, Brevan Howard, and SK Telecom to build an institutional platform, Aptos Ascend. The platform will aim to offer traditional institutions a gateway and platform to enter DeFi. 

Crypto

L1/L2:

Arbitrum introduced BOLD, a permissionless validation tool for Arbitrum chains. BOLD will look to replace the Arbitrum’s current, permissioned fraud proof mechanism and take them further on their journey to a Stage 2 rollup. 

Berachain, an upcoming L1 that uses proof-of-liquidity, announced a US$100M Series B raise. 

Worldcoin has announced their L2 chain, World Chain, with a focus on building DeFi and identity verification apps. World Chain will be built as part of Optimism’s Superchain. 

Data availability project, Avail, confirmed their token airdrop. 354,605 wallet addresses are eligible to claim 600M tokens as part of their “unification drop”. 

DeFi:

Solana-based DEX, Zeta Markets, has released its token allocations, with 6% of supply set for the initial airdrop

RWA protocol, Ondo Finance has partnered with Noble to bring tokenized Treasuries to the Cosmos ecosystem. 

Stablecoin:

Tether is set to reorganize into four new divisions: Tether Data, Tether Finance, Tether Power, and, Tether Edu. Tether Finance will manage their USDT stablecoin, Power will manage their Bitcoin mining investments, while Data will manage their tech investments. Edu will be focused on education initiatives. 

Other:

Binance has announced Binance Megadrop, a new token launch platform with airdrops and web3 quests. 

Blast-based DEX, Thruster, has raised a US$7.5M seed funding round.
