$XRP update

There is no trial. All that is remaining now is to decide how much in fines Ripple has to pay for its sale of #XRP to institutions (which were ruled sales of securities).

The SEC has made their argument and asked for $2 billion. Which is frankly insane. Ripple get to reply by 22nd April, then the SEC get to reply to that by 6th May. Then it will likely be months for the judge to make a ruling.

There may also be some discussion around what/ how Ripple can sell to institutions legally going forward.

After that either side can file appeals for various parts of the case. That process will likely take at least a couple of years.

A settlement could happen at any time that would end proceedings, but I very much doubt there will be one.
