According to PANews, OpenAI is collaborating with Broadcom and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to develop its first self-designed chip to support its artificial intelligence systems. In addition to using Nvidia chips, the company has also incorporated AMD chips to meet its infrastructure needs. Due to cost and time constraints, OpenAI has temporarily abandoned plans to establish a network of wafer foundries. Instead, the company plans to focus on internal chip design efforts.
