According to Odaily, Starknet has announced on the X platform that the first phase of staking has been launched on Starknet Sepolia. This marks the beginning of a broader plan to transition Starknet into a fully decentralized Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network. The envisioned transition includes the following phases:

Phase 1: Introduction of a permissionless staking protocol and delegated staking. Validators are expected to run a full node in preparation for the next phase.

Phase 2: Validators will begin block attestation, signing blocks when randomly selected.

Phase 3: Validators will verify and vote on blocks ordered by the sequencer, with consensus being proven to Layer 1 (L1).

Phase 4: Validators will take full responsibility for maintaining and securing the network by generating, attesting, and proving blocks.

This phased approach allows Starknet to cautiously roll out staking and make adjustments over time to meet the evolving needs of the community. Additionally, the four phases are not rigid or static and may change based on observations made during the process.
