Did you know that since Tesla announced the acquisition of $1.5 billion in BTC, the number of addresses with 1,000 or more BTC has decreased by 16.71%, falling from 2,490 to 2,074 addresses?
No one truly knows the BTC addresses of Tesla or if the purchase was made close to the announcement. What we do know is that the first major drop was not related to exchanges, as reserves increased until mid-2021. It is also known that BTC flow between exchanges increased in early February 2021, and miners moved about 20,000 BTC on the day of the announcement. The addresses of funds and public companies did not show signs of change during this period.
Another interesting fact is that addresses holding 1,000 to 10,000 BTC distributed their coins after Tesla's announcement.
Thus, the decline in the number of addresses right after Tesla's announcement refers to unknown addresses, making identification impossible, also known as BTC Whales (Original Gangsters). In any case, there has been a reduction of 416 addresses, meaning there are currently fewer whale addresses than before. This indicates that the dynamics among the big players are changing every year, with an increasing number of BTC leaving exchanges, while funds continue to accumulate. In contrast, miners have less and less BTC, and the number of whales is decreasing too!
