EigenLayer announces the launch of the EIGEN token with Initial Airdrop on May 10th.

EigenLayer's native token - $EIGEN is set to debut on May 10th. As part of the distribution, #EigenLayer will conduct stakedrops over multiple seasons, allocating 15% of the token supply to users who have staked on the platform. In the first season, 5% of the token supply will distributed to users based on a snapshot of staking activities captured on March 15th. 90% of the allocated tokens will be available for claiming on May 10th.

EigenLayer is an #Ethereum restaking protocol that lets users deposit $ETH from various liquid staking tokens, aiming to allocate those funds to secure third-party networks or actively validated services. It introduced a concept called "restaking collective," allowing $ETH stakers to support applications within the Ethereum ecosystem.
