Anyone can validate #
Qtum
transactions, even if they don't hold any tokens, just like #
Bitcoin
and #
Ethereum
There's no voting process involved, because a truly decentralized #blockchain doesn't need one.

If you didn't update your Qtum wallet in time for the hard fork in February, it's not a problem. Simply download the new v27.1 release from Github: https://t.co/gwsCqIkxi8 We get asked this all the time, people who missed the update want to know what to do. It's simple, just make sure you backup your old wallet first in case there's any issues, and then download the new version. Once the blockchain is synchronized, everything will work.

True decentralization in a blockchain project is important. It stops central authorities from blacklisting wallet addresses, rolling back the chain, or stopping transactions completely. You can tell if a project is truly decentralized if no permission is required to validate transactions. Everyone should be allowed to operate a node, without having to hold coins or being voted for. The community should have the choice whether or not they support updates. If they don't like the project's direction, they can simply reject future updates and run on their own fork of the project. There's a lot more that could be added to this topic, but we'll stop here for now. Feel free to carry on the conversation in the comments.

Qtum is a clone of Bitcoin Core, with staking instead of Proof-of-Work. We also implemented the Ethereum Virtual Machine into our blockchain to enable smart contracts. This is all done on a layer1 decentralized network.

Great show @festival_web3 Glad we sponsored the show, very well organized. We had a lot of meaningful discussions and look forward to following up on them. It's nice to be back in HK and we look forward to returning. Now for the long flights home!
