According to TechFlow, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange plans to plead guilty this week and will be released after spending five years in a British prison after reaching a plea agreement with the US Department of Justice.

Julian Assange, charged with conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defense information, is expected to plead guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands and be released from prison before returning to his birthplace of Australia, according to court documents.

The U.S. case against Assange stems from one of the largest releases of classified information in U.S. history, involving the leak of tens of thousands of documents about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as briefings on prisoner assessments at Guantanamo Bay.

Earlier news, Trump said that if he was re-elected president, he would consider pardoning WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
