A special subcommittee decision for cryptocurrencies and Web3 came from Hong Kong. According to recently reported information, the Hong Kong Legislative Council has formed a subcommittee to address crypto and Web3-related issues.

Hong Kong lawmaker Johnny Ng said this newly formed subcommittee is gathering policy feedback from the cryptocurrencies and global Web3 industry.

Market and investor confidence will be investigated

It was noted that the committee will also work on how investors can be protected to increase confidence in the cryptocurrency market.

In addition, researching the demand for professional custody services due to the rise of cryptocurrencies in Hong Kong and investigating relevant storage methods and regulatory measures will also be among the duties of the committee.
