50 Cent: They Made $300 Million in 30 Minutes with Fake Cryptocurrency

Famous rapper 50 Cent claimed that a hacker earned $300 million in 30 minutes as a result of hacking his website and social media accounts.

Making a statement on Instagram on Friday, June 21, 50 Cent stated that his website and X (formerly Twitter) accounts were hacked and emphasized that this incident had nothing to do with him.

50 Cent said in his Instagram post, “Twitter and Thisis50.com were hacked, I have no connection with this cryptocurrency,” and said, “Twitter quickly locked my account back. "The person who did this earned $300 million in 30 minutes," he explained.

The statement also included screenshots showing the promotion of the cryptocurrency called $GUNIT. While this cryptocurrency initially had a market cap of less than $1 million, it quickly gained value.

50 Cent and cryptocurrency relationship

50 Cent was one of the names mentioned in the cryptocurrency world before. In 2018, TMZ published a report claiming that the famous rapper made millions by joining the Bitcoin trend early. The news stated that 50 Cent offered the payment option with Bitcoin for his album Animal Ambition, which he released in 2014, and earned approximately 700 Bitcoin this way. At that time, the value of Bitcoin was around $662, which meant that the rapper earned between $7 million and $8.5 million.

However, following this news, 50 Cent admitted in court documents that he had never made any money from Bitcoin. According to documents obtained by The Blast, 50 Cent denied these claims in bankruptcy court and stated that he accepted Bitcoin but did not receive any income this way.
