CertiK emphasized that they notified Kraken immediately after discovering the vulnerability, and the latter classified it as "serious". Although the vulnerability fix was initially successful, Kraken's security team subsequently threatened CertiK employees, asking them to return the unmatched amount of cryptocurrency without providing a repayment address.
