Oracle Pyth Network announced the deployment of its pull oracle on the Solana network. This allows developers on Solana mainnet-beta to access Pyth oracle prices by querying or pulling price updates from a Pythnet application into the Solana environment. 🚀🌐

With this deployment, the use of Pyth oracle on Solana is now consistent with how applications use it on other blockchains.

In a pull oracle design, the oracle updates the price on the blockchain upon request. A Pythnet application that runs as a Solana virtual machine instance aggregates prices from Pyth data providers into each slot. Users on Solana can then request or pull any of these high frequency updates into the Solana environment.

The launch offers users a number of benefits including increased reliability, higher frequencies, more data channels, access to historical data and improved security.

Some projects in the Solana DeFi ecosystem have already started migrating to the Pyth pull oracle. It currently processes 200,000 pull updates per day.
