Matter Labs has raised an impressive $458 million to develop the zkSync network, including a $200 million ecosystem fund designed to promote zkSync adoption. This funding makes zkSync one of the best-funded projects in the blockchain space.

Historically, well-funded projects often bring valuable airdrops, as demonstrated by Arbitrum’s $ARB token airdrop. Arbitrum raised $120 million at a $1.2 billion valuation, with over 600,000 users receiving billions of dollars worth of $ARB governance tokens. With zkSync raising more than three times that amount, $ZKS secondary should see good price.

The total supply of ZK tokens is 21 billion

66.6% of the total supply of ZK is allocated to the community: 17.5% of the total supply of ZK (about 3.675 billion) will be allocated to the community in a one-time airdrop; the rest (49.1%) will be allocated over time through the ecosystem program managed by the ZKsync Foundation and the ZK Nation governance process to support the growing ecosystem as new users come on-chain.

33.3% of the supply is allocated to investors and the Matter Labs team: 17.2% is allocated to investors; 16.1% is allocated to the Matter Labs team. These ZK tokens are locked for one year and then unlocked within 3 years, from June 2025 to June 2028.
