Happycoin.club - The number of Ethereum (ETH) coins that cryptocurrency hodlers bought in a day almost broke the 2023 record.

The head of the research department at CryptoQuant, Julio Moreno, reported a surge in demand for Ethereum on June 12, as a result of which people who had stored digital assets for a long time purchased 298,000 ETH worth $1 billion at the current rate. The record for this indicator was set in September last year, when hodlers replenished their balances by 317,000 ETH per day.

Changes in the Ethereum rate and the number of ETH coins purchased by hodlers

The chart shows that long-term investors bought the cryptocurrency when its value was declining, apparently counting on a reversal, and, apparently, they were right. The price of the asset bounced off the support barrier around $3,400 and corrected by almost 7%. Then the rate fell again, but rebounded again, and a bullish double bottom pattern appeared on the chart, indicating the start of an upward trend.

It can be assumed that the increase in demand for Ethereum was due to the statement of the head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission Gary Gensler that Ethereum ETFs could be issued before the end of the summer. However, some experts believe that trading in derivatives units will be launched later - in September or October.
