What is Cosmos (ATOM) cryptocurrency?
Cosmos (ATOM) is a cryptocurrency that positions itself as a decentralized network of independent blockchains running on the Byzantine Fault Tolerant algorithm (BFT). Tendermint BFT is the Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus engine that powers Cosmos Proof of Stake. These blockchains interact with each other through the Cosmos Network, known as the “Internet of Blockchains”. The Cosmos Hub is the first blockchain launched by Cosmos, and its main task is to interconnect with other blockchains in the ecosystem. Tokens can be transferred from one blockchain to another in the Cosmos Hub securely and quickly.
