Happycoin.club - The largest public Bitcoin mining company Bitdeer Technologies demonstrated its own SEAL04 chip for the recently launched SEALMINER installation. Production of the chip will begin in the second quarter of 2025.
Miner Bitdeer has not revealed the expected hashrate of the chip, but it is known that the power consumption of the new SEALMINER installation will be optimized to 5.5-6 J/TH (joules per terahash). This is significantly lower than the average of 29 J/T.
Experts are confident that the introduction of a chip with such energy efficiency will be a significant technological advance in the cryptocurrency mining industry. SEAL04 will provide much higher Bitcoin mining performance with minimal power consumption, resulting in lower operating costs and a reduced environmental impact.
Bitdeer first announced successful testing of SEAL04 in March 2024. Then, during testing on the SEALMINER installation, an energy efficiency of 18.1 J/Tx was achieved.
News that the largest miner, led by Bitmain co-founder and former CEO Jihan Wu, was launching a Bitcoin mining rig with its own chip appeared in early 2023.
