Odaily Planet Daily News: On June 5, cryptocurrency data aggregator CoinGecko disclosed that its third-party email marketing platform GetResponse suffered a data breach. CoinGecko explained in a statement that the attacker exported nearly 2 million contacts from CoinGecko's GetResponse account after hacking into the account of a GetResponse employee. Subsequently, the attacker sent 23,723 phishing emails from the account of another GetResponse customer. Although CoinGecko user accounts and passwords remain safe, the incident resulted in data leaks, including user names, emails, IP addresses, and email information. CoinGecko advises users to be cautious about emails claiming to be airdrops, avoid clicking links or downloading attachments in unsolicited emails, and take other security measures. (TheBlock)
