Odaily Planet Daily News: Several American politicians have asked US President Biden and the hostage affairs unit to try to bring home Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive who has been detained in Nigeria for more than three months on suspicion of money laundering and tax evasion. In a letter to US President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken and Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs Roger D. Carstens on June 4, 12 US politicians emphasized that Gambaryan is still "wrongly detained" by the Nigerian government and must take immediate action to prevent the situation from deteriorating further. "We are concerned about his life. Immediate action must be taken to ensure his safety and save his life. We must act quickly before it is too late." These American politicians also stated that Gambaryan was not allowed to meet with his legal team without Nigerian officials and armed guards. Before joining Binance, Gambaryan worked for the IRS for ten years.
