ChainCatcher reported that according to Cointelegraph, Magic Leap announced a "multi-faceted strategic technology partnership" with Google to develop new extended reality technology.

The partnership will highlight Magic Leap's advances in optics and Google's infrastructure, according to a statement from Magic Leap CTO Julie Larson-Green. "By combining our rich optical capabilities with Google's technology, this partnership accelerates the transformative power of augmented reality to continue delivering immersive experiences to the developer ecosystem and customers. We look forward to expanding the potential of extended reality to merge the physical world with solutions that have valuable, relevant context."

Its press release doesn’t describe any actual products or announce any potential services, but this could mean a new headset for AR/XR to compete with Meta and Apple.
