Galxe announced that it will soon launch a Layer 1 blockchain "Gravity" designed for full-chain experience and full-chain abstraction, and will integrate its core products into the Gravity chain, aiming to provide seamless and scalable Web3 solutions for its 20 million users.

Galxe said that over the past three years, its user base and transaction volume have grown exponentially, highlighting the urgent need for more efficient, scalable and secure cross-chain interaction solutions. However, existing solutions are insufficient in supporting the required complexity and scale, and Gravity has the ability to solve these challenges and provide an integrated and simplified experience for developers and users.

What is Gravity?

Gravity is a full-chain settlement layer built for mass adoption and full chain abstraction, abstracting the technical complexity of chain interactions and integrating advanced technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs and state-of-the-art consensus mechanisms to ensure high performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

At launch, Gravity will be seamlessly integrated with Galxe’s existing product suite, including Quest, Compass, Passport, Score, Alva, and the Galxe Identity Protocol. Gravity plans to support 100 million transactions per month, three times that of Ethereum. This integration enables developers to quickly reach a large user base. Gravity also simplifies multi-chain asset management, cross-chain transaction settlement, and user-friendly transaction processes, freeing users from the complexity of underlying technology.

Harry Zhang, co-founder of Galxe, said: "Gravity represents a major step forward for us in the decentralized Web3 ecosystem. Over the past three years, Galxe has always put user experience first, as evidenced by the transaction volume on more than 34 chains we support. The launch of Gravity is precisely to meet the urgent need to simplify cross-chain interactions and provide a user-friendly experience. Its ability to abstract complexity will bring disruptive changes to developers and users."

What are the key features of Gravity?

Cross-chain transactions: Gravity allows developers to process and settle transactions on multiple blockchains, enabling more efficient and secure interactions.

Efficient Verification: Supports economical and efficient zero-knowledge proof verification to ensure economical and secure transactions.

Enhanced user experience: By introducing cryptographic primitives (such as the secp 256 r 1 curve) through precompiled contracts, Gravity enables use cases such as passkey authentication for account abstraction wallets, thereby improving the user experience.

High-performance execution: Gravity integrates the fastest execution layer Reth and the most advanced consensus algorithm Jolteon (AptosBFT). Together, these technologies provide high throughput and near-instant finality.

Secure and robust PoS mechanism: Gravity’s proof of stake will be driven by native staking of the G token and re-staking protocols including Babylon and EigenLayer.

EVM Compatibility: Gravity will be fully compatible with the EVM, enabling developers to seamlessly deploy and interact with smart contracts.

When will Gravity be released?

Galxe said that the launch of Gravity will be carried out in two key phases. Among them, Gravity Alpha Mainnet will be launched in June 2024, powered by the Arbitrum Nitro technology stack, using a public ledger instead of a centralized backend to test cross-chain settlement in a transparent production environment. In the second quarter of 2025, Galxe will launch Gravity Mainnet, a PoS Layer 1 blockchain driven by re-collateralization, with Reth as its EVM execution engine.
