After President Javier Milei met in California with the head of WorldCoin, the controversial company that scans the iris of the eyes to obtain biometric data in exchange for cryptocurrencies, launched an advertisement that mentions the Argentine star Lionel Messi.
The leader of a firm that was banned in Spain and Portugal and is landing in Argentina, Alex Blania, was part of the meeting that Milei recently held with mega-entrepreneur Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI (the company behind artificial intelligence ChatGPT).

Shortly after the meeting with the libertarian president, WorldCoin broadcast an advertisement on Argentine television laundering its controversial business and using a character who says his name is "Leonel Messi" and who wants to have his "own identity" protected without being accused of being a scammer.
In this way, the company seeks to respond to criticism against it for obtaining biometric data, at a time when it is moving forward with its full landing in Argentina after having had difficulties in other countries.
