Dogwifhat (WIF) on the Solana ecosystem is leading the way with an 11% increase. Now it costs $3.68. Meanwhile, Bonk is up more than 6% and is currently trading for $0.00004148, CoinGecko said.
FLOKI has also achieved a notable increase of 9%: its price is now at 0.0002953 USD.
All three of these tokens have exploded over a seven-day period all above 33%.
The meme coin and token craze comes after meme stocks continued to surge. GameStop (GME), the space's original asset, jumped 37% today following news that the video game retailer made nearly $1 billion from selling more of its own stock.
The gaming retailer didn't pass up the opportunity to capitalize on its brand's resurgence, at least among investors.
Its Solana-based gratitude token, GME, is also surging today, up more than 20%. CoinGecko says that GME is currently priced at 0.004725 USD.
Meme coins are assets that have become popular through online communities and social media. Meme stocks became a hit in 2021 after amateur traders started buying GameStop, which had been shorted by Wall Street firms.

The craze has led to a surge of interest in meme cryptocurrencies, which are essentially based on internet jokes but can still generate huge profits for some lucky traders.
However, memes and tokens carry similar risks and have been known to drop in price and disappear completely as soon as developers release them.
Bitcoin took a hit today after defunct cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox transferred more than $9 billion in “digital gold” to an unknown wallet yesterday, scaring industry observers.
