In a bid to supercharge web3 gaming on Ethereum's Layer 2, the Arbitrum community rallies behind a proposal to allocate 200 million ARB tokensāworth $250 millionāto spur game development.
With 35 million ARB already in favor, the Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP) aims to incentivize developers over three years, yet it needs 105.57 million ARB votes for quorum by June 7.
The GCP seeks to replicate DeFi's success, leveraging Arbitrum's $19.3 billion TVL to ignite gaming growth. It plans to allocate 160 million ARB for onboarding and growth, 40 million for infrastructure, and $25 million for operational expenses, overseen by a diverse council.
As GameFi booms, with a market cap of $22.7 billion, the GCP could position Arbitrum as a powerhouse in the gaming sector's web3 revolution.
