The Scroll tutorial has been written for almost two years. Whether from the technical point of view or from the perspective of ecological development, it feels#Scroll It is necessary to interact, and it may be the focus of airdrops in the third and fourth quarters.

This article mainly introduces#scroll Pencils Protocol: A method of using one fish to eat six kinds of food.

⭐ Articles covered: Scroll premium accounts, ordinary accounts, low-security account strategies, interaction spans, and tips on how to out-scroll others.

This article mainly introduces Scroll's direct project - Pencils Protocol, which is a one-stop revenue aggregator and auction platform on Scroll. It integrates Launchpad, unified asset aggregation and distribution, leveraged income and other functions to provide users with a richer and more diverse on-chain asset service experience.

Pencils Protocol Season 3 airdrop event can kill six birds with one stone: participating in the Staking Pool staking can earn high APR, and obtain a series of point rewards including Scroll Marks, Pencils Points, EigenLayer Points, StakeStone W1 Points, Kelp Miles, Puffer Points, and Ecological Alliance airdrop rewards.

StakeStone W1 Points, Kelp Miles, and Puffer Points have been introduced several times before, but the dongle has never mentioned Scroll Marks. Today we will first introduce Scroll Marks, which may be the direction for most people to get airdrops in the second half of the year.

I am a blogger who teaches people how to fish. I will not just write a soulless and cold tutorial and throw it to everyone without saying anything. Instead, we will write clearly (sometimes very clearly): what is the meaning of a project? What is the direction? What is the focus?

Only in this way can we make money clearly. Otherwise, you will feel busy every day but not making any money, not even enough to buy an Audi Q5 in a year.

Only by understanding the meaning of Scroll Marks can we understand the importance of Pencils Protocol.

1. About Scroll Marks

1. What are Scroll Marks?

Scroll Marks is a user points statistics released by Scroll on May 15, which mainly counts the scores of users' bridging data and gas burning data since the launch of the Scroll mainnet on October 10, 2023.

Later projects will issue airdrops based on Scroll Marks (which we regard as points).

Eligibility criteria (points will be awarded if any one of them is met):

  • It has crossed eth, wstETH and STONE to Scroll (more bridge assets will be opened later)

  • Burned 5u of gas on the Scroll network

The Gas column shows the snapshot taken on April 29. Don’t be discouraged by the time. This is the data for Session Zero. There is also Session One after that. I don’t know whether Two or Three have been lost yet, but Session One is definitely there, so if you want to get it, you have to get it early.

Let's look at the data indicators so we can have a better direction.

(II) Scroll Marks data indicator analysis

Scroll Marks currently counts 25,215,566 addresses, and the intervals are as follows:

  • 0 marks:587,363 Address

  • 1–10 marks: 377,759 Address

  • 11–20 marks: 47,532 Address

  • 21–50 marks: 127,851 Address

  • 51–100 marks: 309,974 Address

  • 101–200 marks: 354,525 Address

  • 201–300 marks: 148,814 Address

  • 301–400 marks: 71,384 Address

  • 401–500 marks: 37,850 Address

  • 500+ marks:67,782 Address

  • Among these 25 million addresses, nearly 590,000 users have a Mark of 0;

  • Most users are in the range of 1–10 Marks;

  • 50% had only 83 Marks;

  • To be in the top 10%, you need to hold 2130 Marks.

So here comes the direction, try to get your points into the top 10%, so that you don’t have to worry about Scroll officials releasing Session One/Two/Three later to dilute your points, so that you can get a high allocation.

3. How to increase your points

For public chains, the way to increase points is to calculate transaction volume, and you can see which range you are in based on the transaction ranking.

The trading volume ranges are as follows:

  • TOP 10%:9000U

  • TOP 30%:999U

  • TOP 50%:99U

The number of ecological contract interactions is as follows:

  • TOP 10% Number of contracts used: 17

  • Number of contracts used by TOP 20%: 12

  • Number of contracts used by TOP 30%: 9

  • Number of contracts used by TOP 50%: 5

From the above data, we can see that if you want to improve your ranking, you can simply increase your trading volume.

There are many ways to increase transaction volume, such as interactive Scroll ecological projects (indicated by contracts in the above figure). You can also use cross-chain more often, which can both increase GAS and increase transaction volume.

Judging from the cross-chain data, 90% of users only cross 1 eth, which shows that there will be a lot of data bias in the cross-chain area.

If the amount transferred is too small, TVL will inevitably fail to increase, which will cause serious liquidity problems for the ecosystem.

The three cross-chain scoring standards on Scroll Marks are enough to illustrate the importance of cross-chain, so let’s take a look at the key points of Pencils Protocol Season 3.

2. About Pencils Protocol

1. Project Introduction

Pencils Protocol, formerly known as Penpad, is a one-stop yield aggregator and auction platform on Scroll. It integrates Launchpad, unified asset aggregation and distribution, leveraged returns and other functions to provide users with a richer and more diverse on-chain asset service experience.

  • Investment Background

Investors include OKX Venture, Animoca Brands, Gate, Galxe, Presto Labs, Aquarius, Arcanum, Agarwood, Sandy (Scroll cofounder), etc.

  • Pencils Protocol Current Progress

Co-hosted Season 2 with OKX Wallet. In Seasons 1 and 2, the amount of ETH pledged by the community reached 275% of the original target to strive for $PDD shares. We cooperated with more than 50 high-quality projects in the industry and formed a large global community.

2. Project Mechanism

Pencils Protocol can be understood as an IDO or IEO platform. In short, many projects in the Scroll ecosystem will issue tokens on Pencils Protocol. At the same time, it is also a one-stop revenue aggregator platform (introduced in the Pencils Protocol Vaults section at the end of the article, here we mainly introduce the points system).

In the past, no matter how much money you had, you could subscribe to the quota on the IDO platform. If you had enough money, you could directly monopolize the issuance of an IDO and eat up all the quota. But this is not the case with Pencils Protocol. In order to prevent VC whales from monopolizing, the platform has come up with many strategies to increase the subscription quota for ordinary users, such as the Pencils points system.

Pencils points are the core participation and contribution system in the Pencils Protocol ecosystem, and can be used to participate in ecological activities in Staking, Vaults, Launch, and future Shop product sections.

3. What benefits can I get by holding Pencils points (application scenarios of Pencils points)?

  • In Launch, users can consume Pencils to get more allocations or lower prices, increasing their chances of getting allocations for high-quality projects.

  • In Vaults, users can increase leverage by consuming Pencils, thereby obtaining more mining income and realizing asset appreciation.

  • The Shop function will be opened in the future, and users can obtain limited products, NFTs and other virtual or physical goods by consuming Pencils.

  • Users who hold Pencils points have the opportunity to receive airdrops for launch projects.

Currently, the Pencils Protocol platform is launching an airdrop distribution activity for the platform currency $PDD. Users accumulate points by completing tasks. The more tasks you complete, the more points you get, and the higher the token allocation you can get at a low cost.

Let’s take a look at how to earn Pencils Protocol points and kill six birds with one stone.

3. Season 3 Event Details

1. Background

Pencils Protocol Season 3 is the focus of this article and is where users get one fish, six meals.

Previously, Pencils Protocol has launched two airdrop activities:

  • Season 1: February 27, 2024–March 22, 2024

  • Season 2: March 23, 2024–May 20, 2024

Now users can transfer Season 2 Ethereum to Season 3 with one click to earn multi-tier rewards including pencils and airdrops, or withdraw ETH.

  • May 24 - May 31

OKX activity: After completing the OKX NFT distribution task, mint an exclusive co-branded NFT.

NFT Holder gets Pencils Genesis Airdrop: 15,000 $PDD will be given away for a limited time.

2. About Season 3

S3 supports 3 assets: ETH, USDT, USDC

Season 3 introduces three main core activities, including:

  • Activity 1: Jointly initiated by Pencils Protocol, Scroll, Trust, the leading LRT and LSD protocols (Stakestone, Puffer and KelpDAO), Galxe, etc., during the activity, ultra-high APR incentives and high-multiple Points will be provided to participating users.

  • Activity 2: In-depth cooperation with OKX Wallet to provide users with Scroll co-branded NFT rewards.

  • Activity three, Pencils Protocol and ecosystem jointly form an airdrop alliance to provide participants with multiple airdrop incentives.

3. What benefits can you get in Season 3?

1. Pencils Points of Pencils Protocol

In addition to receiving airdrops, Pencils points holders also have the following benefits because Pencils points are not reset to zero:

  • Pencil Protocol guarantees for late-stage projects

  • Priority access to airdrops from projects launched on Pencils Protocol

  • Ability to purchase exclusive NFTs and merchandise from the Pencils Shop

  • Use Pencils Vault's leverage to get bigger returns

In other words, Pencils points are a golden shovel that will bring many benefits to users.

2. Scroll Marks (Scroll main network points)

The specific weight of Scroll Points (Marks) will be directly related to the user's staked amount and staked duration, corresponding to the future Scroll Airdrop.

3. Dynamic incentives for annual interest rates
During the S3 event, the Scroll Foundation will provide dynamic incentives to users who participate in the Pencils Protocol Staking Pool. While accumulating points such as Pencils and Scroll Points, users can also enjoy single-coin deposit benefits.

4. Scroll Ecological Alliance Airdrop

All users who participate in S3 Staking will be 100% eligible for Pencils Protocol Genesis airdrops. In addition, partners will continuously provide airdrop incentives to the Staking pool, and users can flexibly withdraw a variety of tokens from the Staking pool as additional airdrop income.

5. Re-staking Points Rewards

Staking pufETH, rsETH or $Stone to Pencils Protocol can get multiple points bonuses:

  • Eigenlayer and Puffer Points: Stake pufETH to get 2x points;

  • StakeStone W1 Points: Stake $Stone to get 3x points, triple points in the first 10 days, and 2x points thereafter.

  • Kelp Points 2x (stake rsETH)

(IV) Airdrop Strategy

Combining the above, my strategy for increasing Scroll transaction volume and burning GAS is as follows:

✨ 1. Premium Accounts (TOP 10%)

  • Requires TX: 5000u or more

  • Gas required to be burned: 50U or more

  • Asset retention span: more than 6 months

  • Number of contract interactions: 15

✨ 2. Ordinary Numbers (TOP 30%)

  • Requires TX: 1000u or more

  • Gas required to be burned: 30U or more

  • Asset retention span: more than 3 months

  • Number of contract interactions: 10

✨ 3. Low-income number (TOP 50%)

  • Requires TX: 100u or more

  • Burning gas: 10U or more

  • Asset retention span: more than 1 month

  • Number of contract interactions: 5

The above is based on the current data, not the forecast made under very strict circumstances. So we may make adjustments according to the situation.

(V) Practical planning

Looking at various documents of Scroll's direct project Pencils Protocol, it can be clearly felt that the airdrop weight of the Scroll wallet is examined based on: the amount of funds retained and the duration, and the two are positively correlated.

Here we take the boutique account as an example, the practical plan is as follows:

1. Transfer 50u worth of eth to the Scroll mainnet, which will be used as handling fees and interactive assets for the later ecosystem (to increase the number of transactions);

2. Transfer 1.5 ETH to Pencils Protocol to increase tx at one time to cope with the dilution in the later stage. The ETH transferred to Pencils Protocol can be other LST assets, such as $stone of StakeStone, $pufETH of Puffer, wrsETH of KelpDAO (it is estimated that there will be other assets in the later stage).

Then let's see how to cross to Pencils Protocol and raise TX.

The following are other products of Pencils Protocol. If you are interested, you can also participate. Here we only provide project product analysis and basic tutorials.

5. Extension — Pencils Protocol Vaults Tutorial (optional)

Vaults is one of the products in the Pencils Protocol ecosystem, providing a leveraged mining model similar to lending, allowing users to borrow assets from the Vaults pool to achieve multiple returns and obtain multiple ecological points incentives. Vaults1.0 supports a minimum leverage of 1x, and Pencils Protocol will open more high leverages in the future.

For more product details, please visit: https://medium.com/@PencilsProtocol/introducing-pencils-protocol-vaults-1c16a5a26b18

What are the advantages of Vaults’ leveraged mining?

  • High returns. In addition to the basic LP liquidity mining income, Pencils Protocol also provides points incentives for Vaults users.

In Vault 1.0, users can increase leverage to borrow funds at the lowest cost and increase LP mining income. In addition, they can also obtain high-multiple Pencils points, DEX points, and Scroll points. In the future, in Vault 2.0, Pencils Protocol will be combined with LSD, LRT, etc. to provide users with Native Restaking Yield and multiple points rewards (including EigenLayer, LRT, Penpad, DEX, and Scroll).

  • Low risk: Compared with traditional leveraged lending mining, Vaults products have lower risks and more stable returns.

Pencils Protocol Vaults Basic Tutorial

1. Link your wallet and register and verify your Pencils Protocol account. If you have already registered and verified your account, you can skip this step.

2. Enter Vaults, select the corresponding Pool and click Detail.

3. Select the deposit asset ratio and leverage multiple, and click Deposit after confirmation. Vaults will automatically complete the leverage allocation and form LP to earn liquidity income, without further operation.

4. Switch to Withdraw in Manage to withdraw principal and earnings.

The above is all the tutorials for today. I introduced the methods of using premium accounts, ordinary accounts, and low-security accounts to get the Scroll mainnet and the ecological project Pencils Protocol. There are many strategies in the middle that are of great reference value for us to get airdrops.

Each airdrop can be operated with multiple accounts. The multi-account tool I currently use is: MorLogin Fingerprint Browser
