PANews reported on May 25 that according to Cointelegraph, Kuleen Nimkar, head of DePIN at the Solana Foundation, said that Solana plans to release a full version of the Firedancer upgrade in 2025 and launch a "lite version" before that. As the network activity of the Decentralized Infrastructure Protocol (DePIN) continues to grow, this upgrade aims to improve Solana's overall reliability and scalability.
Earlier in October 2022, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko said that the client Firedancer will be a long-term solution to Solana network outages.
