According to TechFlow, British police seized more than 1.7 billion pounds (2.2 billion U.S. dollars) worth of Bitcoin in an operation in 2018 involving suspected fraud.
Jian Wen, 42, was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for her role in laundering bitcoins in a $6 billion fraud in China. She was accused of laundering the money, exchanging bitcoins for cash and buying properties, jewelry and other luxury goods. Jian Wen claimed she did not know the source of the bitcoins.
