According to TechFlow, the Ethereum Foundation is accelerating the formulation of formal policies to address conflicts of interest that may arise from researchers accepting "large amounts" of EigenLayer token incentives.

The foundation's executive director, Aya Miyamoto, said they realized that culture and individual judgment were not enough to address the issue and would speed up policy development and announce updates soon.

Former Ethereum software engineer and Rotki founder Lefteris Karapetsas suggested that foundations should compensate colleagues appropriately to avoid them needing to seek additional compensation elsewhere.

Previously, Justin Drake, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, disclosed that he received a “large amount” of Eigen token incentives after becoming an advisor to the Eigen Foundation, sparking discussions about conflicts of interest.
