Some brothers asked where to check whether the ETF has passed?
Go to the SEC official website. Some newbie brothers don’t know where to find the information when they enter the official website. For your convenience, I will directly put the link to the SEC information release page, and put it in the comment area to find it yourself.
When will the results be announced? It will be between 2 and 4 in the morning on the 24th, and no later than 6 in the morning. As for whether it will pass or not, it will be a matter of degree. Those who are willing to stay up late can keep an eye on it, but I don’t think it’s necessary. However, it’s not because you can influence the result just by looking at it.
If it passes, then the trend of BTC can be used as a reference. First, after passing, it will stimulate the rise of the market in the short term, and then users of Grayscale holding ETH may sell their ETH, just like selling GBTC at the beginning.
Whether it will fall or not depends on the market acceptance. For example, the market value of Ethereum may not have a deep callback like BTC. I prefer that ETFs can easily take over, and it will be sideways in the short term and pull up in the long term.
If it doesn’t pass, there is no need to analyze too much. Anyway, it is not realistic to get the results at one time. The processes are 19b-4, S-1 and S-3.
What does 19b-4 mean? It is like a food license. You can only produce further if you meet the safety standards. However, being able to produce does not necessarily mean that you can sell it in the market. Then there are S-1 and S-3 approvals, which are similar to business licenses and corporate qualifications.
Then only Grayscale needs to apply for S-3, and other institutions can apply for S-1. So is it possible that S1 passes but Grayscale does not pass S3? It is basically impossible. So if 14b-9 is approved, does it mean that ETFs will definitely pass?
There may not be approval for S1-S3, but the chance of failure is already very small, similar to the multiple content supplements of Brother Bing, so if the content is insufficient, the SEC will ask for supplements, and if it is rejected, it can be modified again and reapplied.
So BlackRock's application is in August. Will the Federal Reserve drag it to the deadline as usual, approve 19b-4 in August, and then go through the process to approve S1 and S3 one by one? This may happen, but I prefer not to happen.
My idea is that 19b-4 will be passed first on the 24th, and the SEC will pass S-1 in August to take care of BlackRock.ETH's ETF has become two shoes that have landed separately!
